Robert Longo’s career in design and construction has progressed
through more than 30 years of practice at architectural firms in
New jersey. Mr. Longo has worked on a variety of building types
including, laboratory, industrial, civic, and medical facilities. An
advocate of “green” building design, Mr. Longo is a LEED
accredited professional, and manages the firm’s sustainable design
practice.
Mr. Longo serves as the Partner in Charge of Commercial
Architecture and Contract Interiors where he assumes executive
administrative responsibility for all projects. In addition, he serves
as a client liaison for the project design team. In this role he
interfaces with all levels of management, contractors, and vendors
to assure that all schedules and budgets are met. An expert in
building codes and standards, he is a licensed NJ building inspector
and is certified by the International Code Council. Mr. Longo
reviews all of the firm’s projects for code compliance.
Mr. Longo is a registered Architect in multiple states, a licensed
Professional Planner, and Certified Interior Designer, in the state
of New Jersey. He is a member of the American Institute of
Architects (AIA) at national, state, and local levels. He is a past
president of the AIA Central New Jersey Section, and chaired of
AIA New Jersey’s Service Awards Committee for 5 years.
Very active in his hometown of South Plainfield, Mr. Longo is a
past president of the South Plainfield Business Association, Chair
of the Business Advisory Group and Vice-chair of the South
Plainfield Green Team. He is also an adjunct professor of
Architecture at Brookdale Community College, teaching courses in
design and construction, a position he has held since 1999.
